# Hydro

> This is your sign to drink water. Hydro sends hydration reminders to your Discord server, either as text messages or quick audio pings in voice channels.

Hydro is a Discord bot built by [Frmwrk Software](https://frmwrk.so). One command sets a recurring reminder for the whole server; there is no account, no dashboard and nothing to install for members.

## How it works

1. **Invite.** Add Hydro to your server. It asks for View Channels, Send Messages, Connect and Speak, plus Mention @everyone, @here and All Roles if you want it to ping roles that are not mentionable.
2. **Set it up.** Run /hydro voice with a voice channel, or /hydro text with a channel and up to three roles to mention, and pick an interval of 30, 45, 60, 90 or 120 minutes. A server can have a text reminder in any number of channels and one voice reminder.
3. **Forget about it.** /hydro status lists every reminder and when it fires next; /hydro stop removes the one in a channel.

- **Ping the right people.** Text reminders can mention up to three roles. Nobody else gets pinged.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I choose between text and voice reminders?

Yes. Run /hydro voice to play a short audio clip in a voice channel, or /hydro text to post in a text channel, an announcement channel or a voice channel’s chat. A server can have a text reminder in any number of channels and one voice reminder.

### Can I change the interval later?

Yes. Run /hydro text again for the same channel with a new interval (30, 45, 60, 90 or 120 minutes) and it replaces that channel’s reminder. Running /hydro voice again moves the voice reminder to whichever channel you give it.

### Does Hydro stay in the voice channel?

Yes. Hydro joins the voice channel as soon as you set it up and stays there between reminders, self-deafened, so it never listens. /hydro stop for that channel makes it leave. If it gets disconnected, it rejoins at the next reminder.

### Can I disable reminders anytime?

Yes. /hydro stop removes the reminder in a channel, or only its voice or text one. /hydro status lists every reminder and when each fires next.

### Does Hydro read messages or collect data?

Hydro never reads messages, never listens in voice and uses no privileged intents. It stores only the reminders you set up: which channel, how often, which roles to mention, who set it up and when it next fires. A reminder is deleted when you run /hydro stop or remove the bot.

### Is Hydro free?

Yes. Hydro is free to add. No Hydro account, no subscription.
